RoC Online – Group Phantom – Tense Tales
Twinhorn steps forwards, and whilst the unusual man is eyed warily by the gathered locals, it is not the first time he has played in less than salubrious surroundings.
“Greetings strangers, let us be friends and share tale and song by the fire, I promise if you would allow us you won’t regret it for a moment. We are simply weary travellers caught without shelter, lend us yours and I will tell you tales like you have never heard before. I am Twinhorn and if you will have me I will be your entertainment tonight, what say you good people?”
The room is silent as stone for a few moments, and then an older woman speaks up.
“You must be far indeed, to be caught without shelter, as you say. How many was your party before you began your travels?”
It is not much, but it is a faint opening. A sign of, if not acceptance, allowance by the villagers, that they will not cast these people out right away.
The conversation resumes. Some, mostly children, stare at the interlopers, though their parents swat them when they catch them doing so.
“These are not times for entertainment.” The woman who had, however loosely, vouched for them says as she approaches, and indicates seats by the fire. It is easy to forget how deathly cold the Frozen North can be; even this far south, the chill had been numbing, a fact which becomes more clear as pins and needles spread throughout their warming flesh. “I am Karinya. I would hear your tale. As plainly as you can, if you please. Perhaps, when it is done, we will share our tale with you as well as our stew, da?”
Surreptitious as he is being, Phillip is able to check the area for rituals. There are none currently active in the area, but there is a strong background hum of it; the attention of a Dralkosh is very much on this village, if not this building in particular.
