Stage Two – Deities –

Notelexus

Gain the following Core Word: Death
Gain the following Support Words: Generations, Blood, Ravens and Terror
You also gain the following two predtermined spells

Name: Blessing of Notelexus
Magnitude:
1
Word: Wisdom
Description:
The blessing of Notelexus is a sombre affair, calling upon the Lord of Death for His wisdom and guidance. Those who accept it feel a skeletal hand upon their shoulder, and know that they walk with the weight of His gaze upon them.
Effect:
The blessed individual gains +1 suit to one check per scene for the remainder of the day.

Name: Communion With the Dead
Word:
Death
Magnitude:
2
Description:
One of the first prayers that a Priest of Notelexus must learn is how to speak with those who have passed into Notelexus’ care. Through a brief prayer calling upon their Lord, the priest may cause the soul of a departed individual to rise from their corpse and answer up to three questions. There is no onus upon the departed soul to answer such questions truthfully or honestly, however, and a wise priest knows that calling back the soul flippantly brings only trouble.
Effect:
If the priest has the body of a dead individual immediately before them they can call back the soul to answer three questions. The soul usually appears as a translucent form – how the individual saw themselves in life. If the soul is not brought back, this can indicate that the soul is still in the world and not in Notelexus’ care, that the soul is powerful and does not wish to return, that some effect is stopping it from returning, or that it has been destroyed. Further transcendental magics can sometimes offer insight into these, or other, possibilities.

Through the blessing of The Kraken, an individual is gifted foresight and dreamlike visions which help to guide them through the day. These visions can be somewhat disturbing or off putting, as they strike without warning and follow the logic of dreams rather than solid reality. Those who are dedicated to The Kraken, however, often learn to interpret these visions and take solace in the power of their God.

Effect:
The Priest may send any one item that is fully submerged in water (or which could be; we don’t need you to ruin physreps!) to The Kraken’s realm. It may be requested back as described above.
