Good afternoon lovely folk of RoC – welcome to our Focus Friday where we tell you what’s been going on this week…

Live Events – Site News
As you may have seen from our last Monday Morning Message, some of the Core Team visited the site in Derby last weekend to see what was what. We had a great time investigating the woods, reading on the compost toilet and telling tales around the fire pit. We are hoping that a few of the smaller issues will be overcome in time for us to use the site this year, but we will keep you updated on that score!
We have been in more talks about developing the site in the New Forest over the last week, and our resident horticulturalist is brimming with ideas for how to help make it even more magical. We are so excited that they have joined our Sustainability team, and we are really looking forward to more work together in the next few months.

As ever, restrictions permitting, we are looking at when we can open for an event!
Tales from the Deck
Gary is back on June 11th! We had such an excellent time with the first instalment of the Mabinogi that we can’t wait for the second branch; with extreme ill manners, the cauldron of rebirth and when Pryderi goes to war. This will be preceded by two shorter tales, as has become customary! We will start with Thor’s fishing trip and then what happened when Reason and Fortune met on a bridge.

RoC RPGs

RPGs have taken a bit of a backseat in the last week due to real life shenanigans, but we are starting fresh on Monday with Cthulhu as our intrepid band continue trying to figure out what is going on in the woods without coming to serious harm.
Character creation for Kids on Brooms will be taking place on May 31st, and Beans is super keen to get started.
In other RPG news, Stephen’s standalone game, The Seven, has received huge amounts of froth and praise in the fortnight that it’s been running, to the point where people are already considering tattoos and creating amazing artwork of their characters!! We can’t wait to see what they look like when they’re finished.
Teams
Our teams are still growing! You may have seen that we are looking for people to join our teams in Sustainability, Awareness, and Website / Media – if you have a burgeoning desire to be part of our Community and spend a few hours a week helping out, we would love to hear from you!
We will be offering First Aid and Mental Health First Aid courses for members of the the Core Team, and their teams in the next few months, before expanding into Core Skills courses. If this is something that you might be interested in, please get in touch so we can see how we can accommodate your learning!
Ed’s Workshop

So far, Ed has painted a gigantic dragon and some undead pirates in the last two streams, and the results have been stellar – if there is anything that you would like to see him paint, let us know and we’ll see what we can do!
Ed will be steaming on Thursdays from his workshop, and answering your painting questions. This is available to all Patreons, so do be sure to sign up!
Remember if you want to get involved, tell stories, play games, run games or whatever we are continuing to build that community and you can find us here and that goes doubly for anything you need for the LARP or just for company on long locked in days. Equally If you want to join us on Patreon we are here.
You know where we are if you need us.
Much Love
The RoC Core Team x
