Good Day Amazing People of the World,

Welcome to the Rising of Chaos Monday Message! We hope that it finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and that you have had a wonderful couple of weeks wherever you were and whatever you were doing! We apologise profusely for our lack of message last week and to all of our loyal readers here’s a quick heads up:

Ahead of the Winter event the teams worked really hard to present a very nice looking end of year CODA event/community day for all involved. A big well done and thank you to all that have worked so hard and an opportunity for a lot of far flung folks to have a chance to see each other ahead of the festive period. In those last weeks, with the massive rise of Covid we followed our policies and cancelled the event, sticking to the promise that we won’t be helping in its spread by running ANY events unless we feel it is safe to do so.

Post that weekend, the teams were all a lot blue and there was a reasonable level of negativity after a lot of hard work and another hard year. We felt it best to leave posting a message until we had had time to recover and we mostly have so here we are 🙂

As ever – Huge thanks to all of the emergency services and their front line staff at this overwhelming time. You have our love and appreciation for your professionalism and relentless ethic.  RoC continues to provide free games and priority booking to you should you need a break when we are back and running events.

In the meantime folks: Get vaccinated where possible, keep your masks on and don’t go out there unless you have to!

Meanwhile on RoC……

Right now we are gathering up for our end of year meetings and our final prep for 2022! Dates are out and about and we are rescheduling Armistice for a different day. We have no doubt that we are in for a busy December one way or another but from a CoDA and DS point of view not a great deal is going to happen eventwise.

Today we will focus on the Chicanery side of things:

We now have active games for Pendragon, Star Wars, DnD, Kids on Brooms and Crash Critters all of which are streamed and recorded over on Twitch and which have attracted a surprising amount of viewers.

This week our schedule will go up and should also include some streaming for some Card Games, some video games (Deep Rock Galactic and Darkest Dungeon are mooted) as well as some more suggestions for the rpg side of things.

We know that this is not LARP related news but COVID, Lockdown and the rise in popularity of the Discord server has allowed us to continue to entertain people with different games and endeavours and we are keen to see it continue.

With Christmas coming up, coupled with the rise in COVID, we know that a lot of people will find themselves locked in and at loose ends. To that end some members of the team are going to be giving up some time to be around in the discord and be running some games, playing video games, telling stories and providing company.

We try to be around generally as much as we can for people when they need some time but over the next fortnight we will be providing some schedules and times on the website as to when we can be about for you and what we will be doing.

When we release that (in the next few days) we will also be releasing the December date for our Patreon gather up and the latest newsletter for aforementioned patreons. We also hope that our story teller has recovered from illness and will be up and about for some end of year tale telling.

The Website will be changing to reflect everything that we have just been through but in the meantime the following Discord handles are who you want to talk to for stuff and things:

  • Wickonian – CODA System Head
  • Hews Fandango – CODA System Head and Tabletop Games PoC
  • ƧƬƛƁƁƠ(shadow) – CODA System Head
  • Stephen – Discordant Symphony System Head
  • Trolley Beans – Discordant Symphony System Head

Remember if you want to get involved, tell stories, play games, run games or whatever we are continuing to build that community and you can find us here and that goes doubly for anything you need for the LARP or just for company on long locked in days. Equally If you want to join us on Patreon and help us support the causes that we do we are here

As ever folks: If you need us, for any reason, let us know and if we can help in any way we will, whatever you are up against.

In the meantime have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing a whole bunch of you at the online game and bumping into even more of you, online, between now and then.

Take Care of Each Other

Much Love,

Stephen and the RoC Core Team x
