Hello there amazing people,
Welcome to the Monday Message which we hope finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and having had the best week that you could have. RoC continues a lot of behind the scenes work and spent most of last week and weekend continuing the launch of its CiCs and other projects. As a LARP provider we continue to offer priority bookings and free games to the frontline emergency services that are out there providing excellent and professional care. And let’s take a look at the week that was and the week to come:
Rising of Chaos LARP
RoC has felt pretty stressful in the last few months as the Cthulhu game demanded more attention and we have been moving ourselves into two separate larp entities under the ROC banner. However! Those two teams are now in play and we have worked through the basics of project management and are moving on.
We have been rebuilding the mechanics of the Fantasy game that we are running but there are now more games on the way. So as we are completing the original mechanics in a way that can apply to other games as we move towards having two standard rules sets for different styles. So:
CODA (Chronicles of Daer Akmir) is in full swing prepping itself for the Christmas event with tickets selling well; we will be releasing some of the pregame bits and bobs this week. We have also managed to finish the Tharinos write up from September and will be publishing that ahead of the December event. Finally we can safely say that the game guidelines are back on track which leaves our agenda for this and next week looking like this:
- Low Rules
- Twenty Fifth Anniversary plans
- Tech Team Meetings
- Character Regeneration
Discordant Symphony was full of meetings and discussions and we are keen to move that forward with at least one big event next year which we are hoping will be at Treowen and if at all possible a second game but that is more likely to be in 2023. With all that said we have a lot on the agenda to get that moving forward and we are super keen to make that happen which means that we are busy as follows:
- Website Presence – We’ll be getting the basics of the game up there this week
- Gallery – Pics of our last game and our props will be about
- First Game Write up – We’ll be adding details of what we did in our last game.
Rising of Chaos has fulfilled the majority of its Patreon obligations with the newsletter out and our meeting set for Tuesday night. There is a branding mission going on today which will feature on things like our badges and t-shirts and Stephen is penning the first fiction piece. To further that we have more people coming into Counselling and are now addressing the cost of diagnosis for ADHD and Autism for those that need them.
Patreon Pendragon character gen and new beginnings went down pretty damn well, and the first fight was excellent! A date for Star Wars Character Creation is soon approaching so we can get that game underway soon and Today, Mighty Mike the Wonderous is gonna be starting off things for a Crash Panda one-shot with character creation, and world building (with the game to be played in the coming weeks) what is Crash Pandas, you ask? Well – The Racing and Sport Competition Annual League, or otherwise the Rascal is an illegal street race that takes part in the area known as New Forest. During the early hours of the morning, many racers come to test their metal and race for cash, honour or pink slips.
This race makes its way through the twist and turn of the country roads and the green fields of the area. Being based in the new forest there is of course wildlife in the area. And a small group have it in their mind to: Join in with the fun, win some cash to buy land for themselves and try not to die: You will play as a group of critters, of which you can choose any wildlife creature. Will you try and join the madness and win enough for your own bit of land or a big feast of rubbish or will you die in a fiery ball of motor and fire? Today at 6:45
Everything else in between…
We will be updating the Discord and making sure that all of the CiCs have their interest registered there. This will mean a shake up of the Core Team and a whole load of people that have been registering interest in joining in being welcomed on board. In the coming weeks we will be looking to have a local presence on a monthly basis at a Hall where we will be giving away food, clothes and the like and running workshops and all sorts for those that need them.
The Website will be changing to reflect everything that we have just been through but in the meantime the following Discord handles are who you want to talk to for stuff and things:
- Wickonian – CODA System Head
- Hews Fandango – CODA System Head and Tabletop Games PoC
- ƧƬƛƁƁƠ(shadow) – CODA System Head
- Stephen – Discordant Symphony System Head
- Trolley Beans – Discordant Symphony System Head
Remember if you want to get involved, tell stories, play games, run games or whatever we are continuing to build that community and you can find us here and that goes doubly for anything you need for the LARP or just for company on long locked in days. Equally If you want to join us on Patreon and help us support the causes that we do we are here
As ever folks: If you need us, for any reason, let us know and if we can help in any way we will, whatever you are up against.
In the meantime have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing a whole bunch of you at the online game and bumping into even more of you, online, between now and then.
Take Care of Each Other
Stephen and the RoC Core Team x
