Greetings wonderfolk of the RoC World!
Monday again, and time for a new message from Stephen and the Core Team! I hope that this message finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and that you have had the best weekend wherever you were and whatever you are doing, and that you ate a lot of chocolate, if that’s your thing.
As ever, the ongoing thanks of all of the ROC Core Team and surrounding members of the emergency services for all of the work that you, as highly skilled and trained folk, to keep us all going during these difficult days. It is beyond appreciated and speaking for just me you are more than loved.
Meanwhile in OmniRoC…
The Online Game
The online game is taking a break after its stellar finale last week, but we will be returning with a new format and new ways to play. We have had some ideas based on the previous iterations of the online game, and we think that this new series will be excellent fun for new and returning characters alike. I am so thankful again, to the DPCs, refs and behind the scenes folk who helped us run what amounted to around 100 hours of pure gameplay, before we take into account the writing, scripting, briefing and other things! I couldn’t have done it without you.
We still have a couple of senior positions available and we are looking for around 10 hours a week input at most and again a huge thank you to those of you who have joined up already!
- Site, Props and Kit Officers
- Discord Awareness and Workshops Officers
Beyond that if you just want to help out here and there you can volunteer for any of the following teams that are in need of support and here and there.
- Development Council – Looking at and helping to develop rules as they needs be
- Plot and Character – Looking at developing main and personal plot
- Storytelling and Crew Team – The event running team
- Social Events Team – Discord – Organising the RPG’s, Tabletops, video games etc
- Awareness Team – Discord – Organising workshops and interviews for the system
- Admin Team – Generally helping out with the running of RoC
- Media Team – Helping to run the Media and Website side of things
If any of that interests you give us a prod at email@example.com and let us know what you want to do and we’ll send you what you need to know.
The return of Tales from the Deck is only a 11 days away, and we are looking forward to another evening with the spectacular Gary giving us even more of his stories. The days when we can get together around a fire and hear tales under the stars are hopefully getting closer with every day but for now, Discord will have to do!
I would encourage you all to sign up to our Patreon, pull up a comfy chair and a glass of something nice and let your spirits be boosted by the magic of the spoken word.
Card games and RPGs continue afoot, so please do let us know if there is anything you would like to join in with, or run!!
If you want to be involved in any of the upcoming games or even run them here are the sign up sheets:
Again, we are still looking at doing actual LARPing, should it be allowed, this year. We have an intentions form here – so please do fill it out and let us know what, broadly speaking, you think you would like to see from us as we build live events once again. Equally, do let us know via firstname.lastname@example.org if there is anything you would like to see in an online scenario, we are always open to player led ideas.
The Discord offices are open all day so if you want to come in Monday to Friday just for company or to chat LARPing, board games and the like we’re in voice most of the time. The RPGs, video games and so forth are on a lot: We are here to give you some level of company if you need it.
Remember if you want to get involved, tell stories, play games, run games or whatever we are continuing to build that community and you can find us here and that goes doubly for anything you need for the LARP or just for company on long locked in days. Equally If you want to join us on Patreon we are here.
As ever folks: If you need us, for any reason, let us know and if we can help in any way we will, whatever you are up against.
In the meantime have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing a whole bunch of you in the office and bumping into even more of you, online, between now and then.
Take Care of Each Other
Stephen and the RoC Core Team x
