Good Afternoon Fine Folk
Welcome to the Monday Morning Message which we hope finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and having had the best weekend that you could. We have had a hecking busy week as more and more opportunities have presented themselves to us with us growing some new and old relationships and developing our teams into a new structure to support what we are trying to achieve. We are aware that we are announcing a lot of potential and we are working hard to provide the substance to go with it. Our intention to expand what we have into a larger, safer environment keeps taking steps forward. Every day.
Before we start talking to you about that we continue to offer our thanks and love to all of the folks that are fighting away on the frontline of the emergency services and all those involved in getting us through the pandemic thusfar. Not to mention everything else that is going on in the world around us. We continue to offer those free games at RoC to peeps and priority booking should you need it.
So we were busy and we went to look at a fifteen acre plot of land to buy down here in the South this weekend just gone. It’s lovely, it has a lot of what we are looking for and it is something that we have been working toward for a bunch of years now. Whether we go for it or not depends on our meetings this week, there is a lot to consider and a lot of work that would have to be done. That said, we cannot stress enough how much this underlines our commitment to the projects that we have been working on for you, this wouldn’t just be for RoC!
The concepts of storytelling evenings, foraging trails, book fayres, woodland walks, herb and mushroom identification classes and myriad exciting and sustainably driven ideas are all things that we want to support as well.
After looking at sites we thought we should probably put up our first events of the year; you can find them floating about here. Make sure you get your codes for Patreon Members AND for Shining Stars AND for Emergency Services. It’s our first new site so you get to be the first players on it!
Just to top that off, in case you haven’t been checking us out, we have also been moving forward with the website just like we said we would: Here’s a whole slew of new webpages with more being added daily.
We promise you more and more updates about the changes we are making along with the new alliances that we have made with Blackwell and also with GoGeek which we will get to soon.
There is a whole load of work in progress for the community and very little to announce this week.
We brought in some more sustainability peeps and have looked at opening up some more slots so that people in the Community can get counselling where needed but mainly we have been focussed around the relaunch.
We are definitely in the last hurdle of starting to send people out to do First Aid and Mental Health First Aid from the first wave of people to take us up on that offer and in a few months we will be in a better position to offer that to more and more people.
Finally we are sad to announce that we will be moving the planned Storytelling with Gary evening back from this Friday, the 11th, to next Friday, the 18th, as Gary will be attending a funeral. We apologise for any inconvenience that this might cause to anyone.
Some of our next moves will be to ramp up the Patreon for things not just RoC and to really push the sustainability side of things because we are gathering a lot of things like food and kit that need to get back out into the world so expect to see a database of things that we can distribute to you all appearing soon!
So that is all I have time for today BUT there are going to be daily updates and changes to the Website and live events. There is an Online Game announcement coming in the next few days and as stated, some announcements about joint projects with other groups that are out to help the communities around them!
In the meantime, if you want to get involved, tell stories, play games, run games or whatever we are continuing to build that community and you can find us here and that goes doubly for anything you need for the LARP or just for company on long locked in days. Equally If you want to join us on Patreon we are here.
As ever folks: If you need us, for any reason, let us know and if we can help in any way we will, whatever you are up against.
In the meantime have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing a whole bunch of you at the online game and bumping into even more of you, online, between now and then.
Take Care of Each Other
Stephen and the RoC Core Team x
