Well hello there wonderful Larpers of the world!
I hope that this message finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and that you have all had the best weekend that you could wherever you have been and whatever you have been up to.
Our continued love and any support and all of our thanks to all of the emergency services peeps and key workers who are battling to keep us alive and well. Equally to all of you listening to and following the advice, staying at home, wearing your masks and generally being sensible. Well done and thank you. I don’t know how to stop saying this and I never want it to seem trite, I really am so unbelievably proud of you all.
Moving onto RoC…
Last week we received a good volume of e-mails from people who want to rebuild their first characters. Priority lists have been set up and you will all be sent your guidance emails today. If you are looking to get your characters rebuilt and e-mail this week you will be prioritised and added onto the back end of the current list.
The Recreant Voice:
We stretched the effects of the game again as our cast made their way to the long ruined village of Kasja. Within the confines of ancient structures they were met by the ghosts of the past and eventually encountered an abandonment of the world. We ran a very satisfying horror scene and have received some amazing testimonials. Next week is going to be an absolute blast and we can’t wait to launch the next game.
Last week we worked behind the scenes on building the lore and society of the Royal Basin. Much of this is based on the input of the players over the last twenty four years and this week we will be publishing them and prepping up more of the same.
Downtime development has begun for version 12 and we are hoping to get that out to the Core Team this week assuming no distractions!
Shifting through to the RoCommunity…
The Discord community is growing and it is growing for you folks, especially if you are stuck at home and looking for more human contact. We have a lot going on and more coming up!
The community is running a Cthulhu game and a Rifts game every other Monday and whilst they are full one of the community heroes, Kit Brutnell, is prepping a DnD game on Sunday evenings. They go by the handle of Kit on the server so you can give him a prod or just post up in his channel.
At the moment we are just running the Formula De league on Sunday afternoons, there are still spaces and it is all to play for. It is also proving to be a popular spectator sport! There is talk of some Mansion of Madness and even Warhammer/Heroquest in the coming weeks.
The Discord Server is full of channels for gaming and we have seen some good streaming of Star Wars, WoW, Monster Train (with Googly Eyes) and X-Com. An RoC Raft has been launched and it looks like that will be active most afternoons and early evenings and a challenge game of the VR investigation game “The Room” is kicking off!
RoC is now booking Storytellers and we start with a regular, monthly, Friday evening slot that rolls in at ten past 8 on Friday evening after the Online Game Ends. Gary “Captain Blood” Llewellyn fills this slot with three tales of the macabre. His room is only open to Tier Two Patreons and we will be making Gary the subject of our Monday Meets on our Instagram.
That’s a lot of social but we haven’t finished yet, in the coming weeks we will be bringing you interviews and workshops with some of the UK’s leading Larping lights. No big names yet but keep your eyes peeled for that along with some make-up workshops and general social evenings.
Not only will we will be bringing you Storytellers and like but this weekend at 4pm we have our first speak to the team where we will be focussing on the societies of RoC and how we want to address any issues for make-up routines whilst keeping an ethically sound system. We look forward to seeing you all there.
If you want to join us on our Discord Server you can find us here:
If you want to join us on Patreon we are here:
As ever folks: If you need us let us know and if we can help in any way we will, whatever you are up against.
In the meantime have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing a whole bunch of you at the online game and bumping into even more of you, online, between now and then.
Take Care of Each Other
Stephen and the Core Team x
