Good Morning Wonderfolk of the World,

Welcome to the Monday Message of mid February! We hope that it finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and that you had the best week you could wherever you were and whatever you were doing. RoC has had its standardly busy week full of fun, frolics, keen and care as the majority of the team recover from the first event of the year which we will talk about shortly.

But first, before we get into everything else we would also like to say that the frontline emergency services remain as ever in our thoughts as do so many others and one day we hope to extend this offer to the likes of teachers and other worthies! We continue to offer free games and priority bookings to our upcoming games – just prod us via e-mails for details and we’ll sort you out.

Alongside that we push our resources into offering limited counselling with some seriously good professional help through the dedication of our own hard work, patreons and the streams that we run. If you think that can help you please get in touch and we will get you on the list as the last of the current spaces are being picked up as we speak.

So! Monday Mornings we have expanded our original message to include all the iterations of the Rising: Focussing on the LARP aspect of Chaos but also rolling in Chicanery for other games and streaming, Community for feeding people and getting them Therapy, Countryside for Land Updates and Creativity for makers, crafters, workshop and socks.

So!

The Rising – Unfortunately plague (not Covid) struck the majority of the team low this week and we were less keen to pursue time in the woods.

The Rising of Chaos: CODA

This week is an exciting week for the CODA team for a lot of reasons but first and foremost because many of us will be attending the wedding of our Rules Chef: Stick! They are to be wed to another CODA member who goes by the handle Gonge and together they and we will massively geek out to music and merriment in the distant Norf! Huzzah and congratulations to all involved 🙂 

And back to business!

As stated there has been an illness in the camps and the CODA team was not left unscathed; usually the putting away and cleaning of kit would not take too long but it was slowed by the sickness which meant that other projects were delayed. Both the Froth Stream and the Debrief streams have been shunted forward to this week.

Tuesday night from 17:30 all are encouraged to join us in Discord and talk event fun and frolics with a beverage and a pizza! We’ll hang around till at least ten and if you just want to watch we will be streaming it so you can also throw questions at us!

Thursday night from 19:00 Jon and his team will be hosting a debrief session, in character on the Discord that will also be streamed. Full details will appear tomorrow but in the meantime we can hint at the fact that those that appear in kit to help with the debrief could earn additional and very shiny helms!

Finally on the Chaos Streams – Stephen will be kicking off the first of our podcasts alongside the legendary Mark Cordory and guests with New to Larp theme in the first few weeks. They will be sending out their work via Twitch, Youtube and other platforms in an ongoing project!

Away from the Live Streams et al the following things are also true: 

Following on from the last fortnight’s discussion we will be announcing our first Politichord – Which will be the Six Duchies meeting via Discord in a few weeks. This will be a chance for the politically inclined to get involved and decide where to throw their weight and the first votes of the new system.

Obviously this means that we will be developing the new mechanics into the next phase of its format to support these things. Right now we have a revamp of Character Creation and the new style of Backlash and Wound Cards in the pot and that will be followed by the new downtime as the icing is thrown over the cake. If you want to be involved in any of these projects the Dev Council needs you!

Finally – We are aiming for a return to normal Woodland services as of March – We can’t tell you much more than that right now as we have all been stinking ill but the intention and the will is there and more often than not that is all that you need.

CHICANERY – Blimey…

So last week members of the Chaos Team helped out with Holly Herself running an outstanding interview with PJ Coffey and DM Sarah over PJ’s Kickstarter Project for 5E advanced DnD – It is fully funded but you can still get an oar in for a few more days here.

Kit, dressed up as the Goblin Dad, was also on fire across some MTG streams although other than that most of us were too lurgified to manage much other than coughing and spluttering – It looks like normal service, as mentioned above will be back on this week. We can also tell you that:

Kids on Brooms will be running tonight with the wonderful Bumblebeans as the ref and that on Tuesday afternoon Jumpy Gron will be returning with some more retro gaming with mentions of more Dragons Lair 1 and 2 and also some Space Ace and even Eye of the Beholder!

Ok – So  that’s the week in a nutshell: It looks like the world may well be a hard place to be in at the moment so with that in mind we will be trying to keep the office manned as much as possible on Discord. If you need people, company, nonsense or an ear please feel free to come and find us.
