Good Morning Wonderfolk of the World,

Getting involved in March now and as ever we hope that this Monday Message finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and that you had the best week that you could wherever you were and whatever you were doing. This week has been busy for us again with the signing for the last of the land taking place and the next online event going up as well as a host of other developments which we will get to briefly.

Before we get into everything else we would also like to say that the frontline emergency services remain as ever in our thoughts as do so many others and one day we hope to extend this offer to the likes of teachers and other worthies! We continue to offer free games and priority bookings to our upcoming events – just prod us via e-mails for details and we’ll sort you out.

Alongside that we push our resources into offering limited counselling with some seriously good professional help through the dedication of our own hard work, patreons and the streams that we run. If you think that can help you please get in touch and we will get you on the list as the last of the current spaces for an April start are being picked up as we speak.

So! Monday Mornings we have expanded our original message to include all the iterations of the Rising: Focussing on the LARP aspect of Chaos but also rolling in Chicanery for other games and streaming, Community for feeding people and getting them Therapy, Countryside for Land Updates and Creativity for makers, crafters, workshop and socks.

If you want MORE of this nonsense or don’t want to read all of this you can catch us every Monday Morning between 8.45 and 10am on Twitch as team members meet up to discuss the plans of the week, the month and generally natter. They will even talk to you too if you ask them questions – That’s here on Monday Mornings.

Regardless: Each of our Rising sections are covered by our various organisers who you can contact and talk to via our Discord Server or just a straightforward e-mail.

So!

The Rising – Calodemon

This weekend we signed for the second section of land which has been a long six month slog to achieve but we are there and have made our way up to the full ten acres! We have also budgeted for two new toilets one of which is fully accessible. Alongside that we have our first container for keeping equipment on site arriving and days booked in with diggers and the like.

Sadly we need a week of dry before we can confirm that we can make the parking field ready and that doesn’t seem to be on the horizon right now. We are hopeful of that happening before the end of the month but access at the moment remains elusive.

The world of CODA continues to advance and we are happy to be able to announce our first online game of 2022 in the shape of a political gathering among the leaders of the Six Duchies. Everyone is welcome along to the event to cast their votes on the various matters that are listed in the event structure. The crew are looking forward to it and hopefully we can have a busy room!

You can get your tickets here!

A great source of pride for us is to have been able to fund our own first Aid training, rather than rely on people with first aid skills from other sources at event. We have been growing well over the years and offering people the chance to extend their skill base via The Rising is something that we have been pushing for and have now achieved. We welcome the two new Level Three First Aiders: Holly Goodall and Anthony Gunfield to our ranks!

Beyond that it has been work as usual as we continue to make our way toward our first events and the release of new material. We are looking at alternative sites, which were to shake up the excitement of the new site but have become necessary venues whilst we try and deal with damage to our current site. But we will be looking to the build at Calodemon this weekend with lots of energy and hope that we can make some level of progress to access and eventual larping funs!

Alongside the usual entertainment we had some technical issues on the streaming side of things which meant that we didn’t get to release a codafying this weekend but we will be back on Wednesday with an actual episode two!

Meanwhile Stephen continued to join forces with the most excellent Mark Cordory, with special guest Holly Goodall as they talked all things LARP. This week the conversation took them through the concepts of expectations at LARP. You can find all things Rising of Conversation by following these links.

This week they will be talking about costuming and kit and probably will be for a few weeks as they advance through the various genres of larp.

The Chicanery calendar is really starting to fill up with different streamers, games and regular slots. You can find info on them over on the Chicanery Facebook Page:

A basic runthrough of the upcoming Chicanery week looks like this:

  • Monday Morning – Chaos Meeting at 8.45  if you want to know what we will be getting up to this week
  • Monday Evening – Kids on Brooms with Holly.
  • Tuesday Afternoon – Will be Jumpy Gron’s Retro Games
  • Wednesday Morning – Stephen will be Codafying and looking at system related things
  • Wednesday Night – Will be Tales of Wildemount
  • Thursday Morning – The Rising of Conversation sees Stephen, Mark and guests talk about more New to Larp issues.
  • Thursday Evening – Group up Games Night brings together some players for Diggy Diggy Space hole, some raft and other potential bits and bobs.

Ok – So  that’s the week in a nutshell: It looks like the world may well be a hard place to be in at the moment so with that in mind we will be trying to keep the office manned as much as possible on Discord. If you need people, company, nonsense or an ear please feel free to come and find us.

You can find us easily enough:

Till the next time we talk: Have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing all of you somewhere in the world whether that be in the woods or on Discord.

Much Love

Take Care of Each Other
