Good Morning Amazing Folk of the Larping World,

Welcome to the Monday Morning Message, I hope that it finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and that you had the best week that you could wherever you were and whatever you were doing. I can only continue to extend my thanks and appreciation for all of the emergency services that are continuing to participate in this struggle. I sit on the outskirts of the NHS via my wife and some volunteer work and just looking at the sheer volume of work, compassion and hardship, well, it’s overwhelming. There is not a great deal of support out there for you but we offer you ours as best we can.

If you need headspace, time or whatever entertainment that we can offer, you just head over to the Discord Server for games, storytelling or just company and we will make sure you get that. Gratis, which is better than clapping.

Meanwhile: Last week on RoC

The Online game continues apace and just keeps getting better, from a personal point of view I am definitely building keen for each session and a new game in April is a really exciting prospect. By the end of this month we should be prepared to run a day of politics online and maybe the one off special that we were thinking of. If you want to get involved with the online then we shall be talking through March about that new game and the tier limits and what not.

Some of our favourite lines from this week include:

“You don’t get doors in caves.”

Aldwyn Waldren

“If he thinks we’re enemies, blowing up his house might not be the most convincing strategy to show him we’re friends”

– Titus Tenspear

“Are you sure there was a big bad guy in here? It seems really nice to me!”

– Nuktuk

“Why don’t you have a lie down mate before you turn into mist again?”

– Nuktuk

The Downtime first run through was finalised last week and will be with the Dev Council this week so it will be out for Patreon discussion soon and on that note the open meeting that we ran on Saturday was well received and we had an excellent discussion on make-up, look and sensitivity. This all fits in with our continuing ethical and sustainability campaign for the system and I am very much keen for the next one.

A whole bunch of new fluff has appeared on the website and is ready to be perused by the masses which covers new aspects of the Royal Basin and there is lots more to come. The respending has begun and WOW it’s generating a lot of amazing bits of character and really expanding the narrative of peoples games. I am very proud of what has been achieved over the last seven or eight months and the direction that the system has taken.

Also within the Community…..

I’d like to thank all of the Patreons that came and saw Gary do his thing on Friday, that man has a powerful presence on the screen, his stories were perfectly chosen and the delivery was top. We’ll be dedicating a page to him and posting testimonials and the like. If other folk out there would like to do any storytelling or similar in the Discord Community feel free to get in touch via the usual channels.

Rifts session one, as a player, was amazing and I am looking forward to developing my character so massive thanks to Tom for that. Definitely an exceptional ref and willing to run with whatever the players throw at him. Equally I am very keen to continue Character Gen for my Cthulhu this evening: Session three and we are still deep in background and nowhere near the 1917 start date. I have enjoyed the Boer War games that we have done to develop formative years so far though.

Formula De was a blast yesterday and I haven’t laughed that hard in quite some time although the less said about that the better possibly…… There is a whole post about that here.

Alongside Formula De we have had a massive influx of people to the ROC Raft which we have been running most weekdays between 3 and 5 although there is no hard and fast in that.

A permanent fixture for Factorio on Wednesday nights after eight has been requested and we are going to see if that pans out well this week. As with all things RoC community you can find us here, and that goes doubly for anything you need for the LARP or just for company on long locked in days. Equally If you want to join us on Patreon we are here.

As ever folks: If you need us let us know and if we can help in any way we will, whatever you are up against.

In the meantime have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing a whole bunch of you at the online game and bumping into even more of you, online, between now and then.

Take Care of Each Other

Much Love

Stephen and the RoC Core Team x
