Good Morning Amazing Folk of the LARPing world,

Another morning beckons after a fine RoC week and amazing community weekend and I can only hope that this message finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and that you, too, had the best week that you could wherever you were and whatever you were doing. It is just getting tougher outside the window and the hopes of post lockdown larping life are tarnished with the brutality of happenings in the world that seem to be beyond our control. We keep working hard here to bring people together, provide support on all platforms and somewhere that we can build for better days.
Today, after a year of lockdown, we continue to offer our huge thanks to the very skilled workers that have put themselves in harm’s way to protect us. The returns that you have received have not been justified and whilst we are not allowed to protest we can offer you our love and also lend our anger to what is happening to you. All of you that have worked against the virus or taught our children, delivered our food and fulfilled similar roles: So many of us are here because of you and it is beyond appreciated.
With all of that said let’s take a look at last week on RoC as the Discord Server grows apace, we have nearly doubled our numbers since last year!

This week I am going to start with the community which we kicked off with a busy house and new Patreons for Tales from the Deck: Gary was amazing as ever and told some incredible stories not just from Russia and Scotland but from our very own Vaklam. For me Friday was a long, hard day and the smiles and excitement brought out in the tales was just what I needed.
On Sunday we had the greatest fortune to be visited by the amazing Mark Cordory who has agreed to three interviews with the first being about his time on Dr Who and Torchwood.
Excitingly, we sold out our Discord room and got to listen to two hours of Holly Beans chatting to Mark which, I think for everyone there, was a massive geekgasm. Mark’s work truly is outstanding and we can’t wait to hear him talk LARP and his time on productions like Corpse Bride as well as his upcoming builds.

The online game server was busy bizz most of the week but we chose to drop the Saturday game due to a small segment of the players moving house or being called into work. For those of you playing we will reschedule that day before the end of the month. New handouts and effects were used and I can’t stop banging the drum of how good this game has turned out to be. Today or tomorrow we will be making the first announcements about the April games, the new formats and how we will be adding the online to the OmniRoC.

Gameswise saw another cracking session of Rifts from Top Tier Tom and more Rafternoons and Factorio. Tonight should be the next session of my Cthulhu game as the narrative marches on to the dawn of war. We also have some new games being written up by three of our radiantly, rambunctious refs: Kit, Holly and Ginge. You can sign up for these games here:
Sign up here with the kick off due for the beginning of April.
This week is a little quieter than last but no less exciting! As has been mentioned we have Cthulhu tonight and Formula De will be returning this Sunday along with some sign ups for board games that will also commence in April. Also this week for games will be Card and Video games with dedicated times for these appearing for April and then on a monthly basis.

The Discord offices are open all day so if you want to come in Monday to Friday just for company or to chat LARPing, board games and the like we’re in voice most of the time. The RPG’s, video games and so forth are on a lot: We are here to give you some level of company if you need it.
Finally the Patreon meeting has been rescheduled to this Saturday around 4pm where we will be looking at developing the nations and the release for next week. So if you want your say that’s where the Core Team will be.
Last on the list to look at is actual LARPing – Yes we are preparing to return to the woods and as ever, we want you all to be directly involved. Traditionally we would just put up an event, which we will soon, but we are getting so many messages about what we will be doing we have made a google form to let you guide us:
Alongside this we will be making updates several times each week to the website for the fluff side of things now that the completely new rules of ROC have been finalised and released. We will also be doing a QnA by “The Stick” who is the first of our players to have transitioned through from the utterly different old system to the new and found the process to be both “painless” and “exactly where I wanted my character to be”.
And there we go!
Remember if you want to get involved, tell stories, play games, run games or whatever we are continuing to build that community and you can find us here and that goes doubly for anything you need for the LARP or just for company on long locked in days. Equally If you want to join us on Patreon we are here.
As ever folks: If you need us, for any reason, let us know and if we can help in any way we will, whatever you are up against.
In the meantime have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing a whole bunch of you at the online game and bumping into even more of you, online, between now and then.
Take Care of Each Other
Much Love,
Stephen and the RoC Core Team x
