Good Morning Wonderfolk of the World!
Welcome to the RoC Community Monday Morning Message. We hope that it finds you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and that you all had the best weekend that you could wherever you were and whatever you were doing. This week, as in all other weeks, our love goes out to the people in the emergency services that are doing everything that they can to keep us safe and working through not just the virus but the other crisis that we face. We offer free games and priority bookings to people that represent on that front and you can mail us for details on that front – They are destined for the website in the next round of updates.

Whilst the world was spinning we had another busy week on both the gaming and community side of things and we are powering toward a finality for a lot of things!
Larpwise…
We had a very chilly, damp but glorious weekend investigating the new site for up North! It’s just over near Derby and has advanced a lot since we saw it last year. Some of the Core Team have been up there working away and from what we can see it’s coming along wonderfully. The first of the toilets has been installed and there are pizza ovens, a big campfire, half a moat and lot of bluebells! All round it was a good experience and as soon as water is not an issue (things are being installed) we will be on site with a lot of canvas and a whole load of plot!

We also followed up the site from last week and had a great meeting with the owners which has opened up some new opportunities for not only us running events there but also at other locations around the Portsmouth and New Forest area. We can’t say too much more right now but the prospect of castles and banquet halls may beckon as well as some other events that we were not expecting this time last week.
It’s an exciting time to be an RoCer.
We had to take an unexpected and excellent week off of rebuilding and plot streaming last week but we are back to booking in slots for folk and website updates which means that we have delayed the date releases for the next games by a week.
Communitywise…
It has been a busy seven days for the various teams to the extent that we really have to sit down and rethink a lot of our planned activities to fit around the new opportunities in front of us:
Firstly: It has been great to see new people wandering into the Discord and joining in all of the activities that we are providing for the community. Much love and thanks for coming in and joining the Patreon to keep everything running! The story, last week, of which is as follows:
Awareness
Our awareness officer, Sarah, has kicked off their channel with gusto and lots of information, updates and chatter is appearing there. The date for the Trans-Awareness talk is on hold briefly but we will get that out there before the end of the month.
Games and Social
The unusually nicknamed Trews is this realms officer and things are rocking forward. We are still running Cthulhu and The Seven each week and there are more games on offer. Beans will be running the first session for Kids on Brooms on the 31st May, again we had to hold back on that one because she was part of the team that was looking at new sites.
The team also streamed their first night of miniature painting in Ed’s Workshop as he took a Dragon from painted to unpainted in three hours. It was an amazing sight to behold and he’ll be adding the video to one of our Youtube channels when it is finished.
There are plenty of sign ups available on the Discord and the planning for the kit channel and Legends of LARP continues with gusto.
Other Fronts
The other officers have little to report bar the continuation of behind the scenes development for coming weeks. We will have a permanent online warehouse of what is available from the new Sustainability Officer for example and appointing a Community Care Officer. Equally our field of skills that we will be offering to the community has stepped up from First Aid, Mental Health First Aid and Core Skills to include things like Blacksmithing and Axe Throwing as well as a wealth of Bushcraft skills.
The Discord offices are open all day so if you want to come in Monday to Friday just for company or to chat LARPing, board games and the like we’re in voice most of the time. The RPG’s, video games and so forth are on a lot: We are here to give you some level of company if you need it.

Remember if you want to get involved, tell stories, play games, run games or whatever we are continuing to build that community and you can find us here and that goes doubly for anything you need for the LARP or just for company on long locked in days. Equally If you want to join us on Patreon we are here.
As ever folks: If you need us, for any reason, let us know and if we can help in any way we will, whatever you are up against.
In the meantime have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing a whole bunch of you at the online game and bumping into even more of you, online, between now and then.
Take Care of Each Other
Much Love,
Stephen and the RoC Core Team x
