Good Morning Wonderfolk of the World,

As we sneak toward February and the last light of January falls on us we express the most earnest desire that we find you in fine form, fetlock and fettle and that you had the best week that you could wherever you were and whatever you were doing. We can honestly say, in this exciting Month long round up, that we have been busier than ever and we arrive here with lots to tell you.

Before we roll into that we want to say that the frontline emergency services remain as ever in our thoughts as do so many others and one day we hope to extend this offer to the likes of teachers and other worthies! We continue to offer free games and priority bookings to our upcoming games just prod us via e-mails for details and we’ll sort you out.

Alongside that we push our limited resources into offering counselling with some seriously good professional help through the dedication of our own hard work, Patreons and the streams that we run. If you think that can help you please get in touch and we will get you on the list.

So! Monday Mornings we have expanded our original message to include all the iterations of the Rising: Focussing on the LARP aspect of Chaos but also rolling in Chicanery for other games and streaming, Community for feeding people and getting them therapy, Countryside for Land Updates and Creativity for makers, crafters, workshops and socks.

If you want MORE of this nonsense or don’t want to read all of this you can catch us every Monday Morning between 8.45 and 10am on Twitch as team members meet up to discuss the plans of the week, the month and generally natter. They will even talk to you too if you ask them questions – That’s here on Monday Mornings.

Regardless: Each of our Rising sections are covered by our various organisers who you can contact and talk to via our Discord Server or just a straightforward e-mail.

Oh no! Here we go!

The Rising – Mostly we have been pushing on with the land and are pleased to have received some funding that will take us closer toward the goal of usable entry roads. This problem was one that we knew that we would have but we are pleased that we are solving it so quickly! The only thing slowing us down is the addition of Covid to one of our team members!

CODA – Ok! So Huge Deep Breath and……

First off we will talk about the upcoming event of Armistice which is going to be EPIC! All of the new game elements and plot will be being introduced off the bat, this is going to be full on action, plot excitement and handover to the new teams from the opening moments of the event. The chance to grab brand new story in the form of Nestors, the opening of pathways to long sealed corners of the world and the return of some old friends to the game……This is just Saturday.

The Player numbers are nearly full, we have maybe two spaces left to fill so if you want to play on you need to let us know ASAP. We are very aware there are a number of people on the maybe list and some of them may well be disappointed. If they are we always need more crew – We could do with two more to make our golden number but more would always be aces: Fun, Food and Shining Stars are guaranteed.

What else? What else?…Well we have finished the first ever rules set for CODA which, granted, is RoC rewrapped but it is a completely new ruleset from version 10 so. The last of the rules previews will be live today which covers Casting and Academic Skills and then, as of tomorrow, we will be launching the Rules as the first big update of the year. This is really big for us as this final preview has taken us completely away from the old game rules whilst keeping the same themes and direction that RoC strove for.

We will be making some big noise about this tomorrow and thanking a lot of people who have contributed to the project that officially started way back in 2018 but if you want a sneak preview you can find the pages here in our “Chatting about LARP” channel in the Discord before they go live on the website: https://discord.gg/fWhhPepsTd

This means that we will also be announcing the full details of the switch over for players from the last versions of the game into this one. Should be pretty smooth and painless but we are aiming to have at least the weekend players completed and with working Omnidecks and the rest of the waiting peeps ready to roll as soon as possible.

“What’s next?” people probably aren’t generally thinking! Well Character Creation and the rebuilds aside we will be working on more and more new stuff: The Fluff is being listed next with full Story Updates following the opening event of the year which will include a review of the world as it was, the events that occurred during downtime and where we are moving forward. The new mechanics of the game point us heavily in the direction that we are moving so we are giving you some heads up as of tomorrow.

CHICANERY – Lots going on there too!

Every day Chicanery is becoming more and more populated with members of our community that are throwing their skills out into the world to share with our growing audience: Originally imagined as a place for our rpg’s to find life with players across the country and slowly out across the world it has become so much more which is reflected in the weekly schedule that is popping out.

This week alone we will be throwing out our Monday Morning Meeting where you get to interact with us, we have our first game designer interview in the afternoon with Peter Coffey who is releasing their new kickstarter for DnD 5E tomorrow: and then in the evening we will be throwing out the next episode of  the ridiculously silly animal racing game: Crash Critters with the Mighty Mike.

Tomorrow is equally as busy with Jumpy Gron spending the afternoon looking back at a gaming age gone by with his retro video games afternoon. Come and join a growing gang of peeps who like to wax lyrical about their misspent youth or just their love of classic moments of the ghost of gaming past. In the evening the massively popular Stitchin’ Stick will be back with more crafting shenanigans and general chatting.

CODA themes out again as the team will be with you on Thursday night giving people some heads up info about what to expect at the weekend and ready to answer questions about the plot and story that people can expect. Finally if we are lucky enough to be blessed by her time we will grab a Friday night Beans’ Bedtime Stories which carries on with The Wind in the Willows which you can catch up on our Twitch Channel.

Ok – So  that’s the week in a nutshell: It looks like the world may well be a hard place to be in at the moment so with that in mind we will be trying to keep the office manned as much as possible on Discord. If you need people, company, nonsense or an ear please feel free to come and find us.

You can find us easily enough

Till the next time we talk: Have a Foxes and Crows week people, we look forward to seeing all of you somewhere in the world whether that be in the woods or on Discord.

Much Love

Take Care of Each Other

Team RoC
