The Lord of the Shadowreaver College

Imravin of the Order of the Blood Red Sun

(Zaek Haqire Zemyok)

Imravin (last name unknown) is an ancient Zumatakan whose first recorded appearance is shortly after the end of the Mandragoran incident circa 110 PC. He has been a pivotal figure in the histories of the world, not just the Royal Kingdom, having faced Gabrak, the Nervish, the Challengers of the Codex, The Pumpkin Knight, Sarkith and Orbolom to name only a fraction. It is rumoured that he trained under Quinn Shadowreaver himself, learning the mysteries of the words of power in the fabled Shackle Mountains. Regardless of who trained him Imravin has risen through the ranks of the College through his own skills and abilities. When Quinn moved on from the College that he created he chose to leave it in the hands of the only individual in the worlds that he trusts.

During his career, Imravin has travelled the world of Jorven Kel Karenik Veek and is not only a guardian of the Sacred Flame but also an honoured member of the house of the Blood Red Sun, indeed he is now more a Zaek Haqire than the mortal he once was. It is said that the story of Imravins life would take longer than this hero has lived to tell and it is fully believable. Imravin is known for his questioning nature and an extremely aggressive attitude but that is not to overshadow his firmly heroic and selfless nature. There is no greater honour for a College Member than to meet the Lord himself or to be tutored by him in person. However he remains an intensely private individual who is unwilling to acknowledge his own deeds let alone receive accolades or recompense for his deeds.

Roles of College Members

The members of the College are trained to act as the Zaek Haqire teach us and as such we fall into the three roles that emulate the rankings and positions of the scholars of the houses of the Sacred Flame:

Remyrukh

A Remyrukh has eschewed the use of weapons and armour, in general, finding that the natural elements of the world constrict the use of the power of the Zaek Haqire to greatly. They are scholars of the Lores of the Colleges, the Gods and the World in which they live. They are the most skilled in mastery of the arts of magic and also diplomacy, widely respected they have little ability in the martial field. They often tend to be teachers and scribes and those that venture into the field do so in search of knowledge rather than excitement and adventure. However those that day are dangerous foes, full of fire and death, able to strike their enemies dead with but a word and with the strength of years of College learning at their side.

Zemyok

A Zemyok is trained as both a combatant and a wielder of the arts of the Zaek Haqire, often referred to as a Pyromancer the Zemyok is the most potent weapon at the Colleges disposal. They are the most common of the acolytes of the Shadowreaver College and have a presence in many of the other guilds and courts across the land. Whilst they do not excerpt such influence as the Remyrukh they spend their time teaching, speaking and following the traditions of the Zaek Haqire. Zemyok’s make up the backbone of the Guildic groups that travel through the lands doing the will of the Iron Table and also populate many of the battalions that grace the Basanic Armies.

Terrukh

The Terrukh are the Warrior Class of the College and as such they are usually tied to the Kashan Chapter where they train in blood and fire to be able to join the ranks of the Zaek Haqire on the field of battle. They always spend at least two years at our cousin order; Ithyarn learning the secrets of blending Sourcery with the martial art forms and when they return they keep that knowledge safe under whatever oaths they are bound to whilst there. Understandably the Terrukh spends much of their time serving the Basanic armies but when they are not they are found most commonly in the service of the other orders of directly powerful Zaek Haqire.

The Four Chapters of Shadowreaver College

When a potential candidate for membership first comes to the Shadowreaver College they travel the prospective Chapters that will cover their training and also teach them the ethos that will lead them through the coming years. Each Chapter is pacted to an individual House that serves the Kingdom of the Sacred Flame and it is from them that they, themselves, draw direction. The Chapters are very private areas, away from each other and with their own approaches; whilst the College is very much united the individuals that serve it are often private and insular folk who would prefer their directives to be their own. When the tour is over the initiate must make their choice and begin the teachings of that Chapter.

Kashan Chapter – The Oblivion Mages

The Kashan Chapter serve the House of the Primal Flame and are dedicated to the art of battle and war, protecting the Royal Basin fearlessly from its enemies.

Burn away the Fear, Burn away the Doubt.

Malistroi Hesfenee – Head of the Kashan Chapter and the Department of Response

(Zumatakan Zemyok)

The third head of this department in ten years Malistroi (born 1532) is one of the furthest travelled people known to exist in the Royal Basin. She was originally born in Egaria almost 500 years ago and is known to have scoured every inch of Daer Akmir, there are also rumours that she has served as a pirate captain in and around the Teeth, waged war in Helgath and visited climes that even the most experienced explorers have yet to even hear of. Her recall by the College came a surprise to many due to her general experience in the field and the general need for leadership in the field. However her take over has pushed the limits of the Chapter to an even higher standard and level than before and what the College has lost by the presence of one has been gained by the training of many. She is famed for having no sense of humour and an iron fist when it comes to discipline, something that is reflected heavily in the silence of her classrooms.

Ethos

The Kashan Chapter are the warriors of the College, attracting mainly the Terrukh to their ranks but you will also find the occasional Zemyok keenly training in their arts. The Kashan are tested on a daily basis, pushing themselves through endless drills to not only prove their skills but also to wipe away fear. Throwing themselves time and again into the fire, never knowing if their power will expire before their task is done and they will be ended in its embrace, in this way is their terror eradicated. Zaek Haqire attend the Chapter at all times teaching it’s members the fierce and tireless arts of their warriors and how to harness the power of the sacred flame to enhance the incantations of the Chapter to create more dangerous and destructive effects. Few complete the training of the Kashan but those who do are fearsome folk to encounter and worthy of the respect of any of their foes.

Trayvarn Chapter – The Wanderers Home

Trayvarn Chapter is allied to the House of the Devoted Servant; we are the servants of the College and the Diplomats, free to move and travel, messengers and secret carriers.

Words can enflame a situation far better than any incantation.

Petchko Gizan – Head of the Trayvarn Chapter and the Department of Lore

(Human Remyrukh)

Petchko was born in 1971 ppw and excelled in the fields of Lore and Glyph work. He combined the two successfully in his field career which came to a dramatic close in 2001 when he accidentally destroyed the Laash of Vreen in a devastating implosion! At this point he was approached by the Guild of the Blending (joining) and learnt a fair measure of mantic power that has been at his command ever since. Despite his successes there he never settled and spent some more years in the field assisting in the wars of the Cataclysm and surviving but only at the cost of his appetite for battle. Returning to the College he applied for and gained the post of Lore master and has remained ever since. His lectures are an animation of exciting recantings of his own experiences lavished with lashings of historical prose.

Ethos

Trayvarn Chapter came into being when Tryse Trayvarn delved too deeply into the broken house of the Devoted Servant. On that day he and he alone learnt the oldest and darkest of secrets of that House and swore to protect them. What he discovered has shaped our course and action; we are messengers, travellers, wanderers and diplomats but most importantly we carry the secrets of the College, the Guilds, the Armies; whoever it is within Basanic society that we are responsible to. Through fire are those secrets kept safe and through enigma the lores of our people are preserved. It is also our responsibility to maintain relationships between the other nations, Colleges or peoples of this land; sometimes that relationship should be kept at an even temperature, fair enough for all to enjoy at others it may be the desire of those in power that it boil over or perhaps the removal of heat to leave only an ice cold. Whatever is required of us, those Remyrukh, for they are more plentiful than Zemyok, that serve the Chapter will provide.

Duties

Alongside the Code of the College we follow a specific list of Duties and general orders that keep us within the remit of the College:

To support College Missions and to represent the College in Courts and through passing knowledge across the Realms.

Zaek Haqire House of the Devoted Servant

Lord of the House:

Korzad Del Drik Moronto

Owing Fealty to:

All Zaek Haqire Houses

Vassal Houses:

None

Specialising in:

Runes, Travel, Diplomacy, Communication

Enemies:

The House Kordred Mar and the House Belshiriad.

House Symbology:

The House carries the symbol of a dancing flame.

Ethos:

The House of the Devoted Servant was shattered in a war between the Azonte Brek house of Kordred Mar and the House of the Shackled Beast (as the Devoted Servant was then known.). Due to acts of loyalty performed by the house of the shackled beast the lord of Sacred Flame intervened to save the house but forced them to swear a fealty to all other Zaek Haqire houses. Now the house of the Devoted Servant acts the diplomatic envoy between the Sacred Flame and all those beyond the realm of Fire. The Zaek Haqire born into this house have the task to serve those of other houses but the freedom to explore and travel beyond Jorven Kel Karenik Veek with impunity, a gift that they and those that pact their house seem to enjoy fully.

Expected Duties:

Those pacted with the House of the Devoted servant are expected to act as diplomats between Shadowreaver College and other organisations and cultures. They are also expected to continue any liaisons between the Zaek Haqire and the College. Most importantly the House of the Devoted Servant expects its emissaries to act with dignity and diplomatic virtue before attempting the belligerence of the sword. To openly attack or act with hostility towards those who would have no malicious intent is an incredibly black mark upon the House and would lead to the expulsion of any pacted member.

Pacting to the House

When a person joins the Trayvarn Chapter they become pacted to the House of the Devoted Servant and are expected to follow its ethos. It is to this house that you will owe your duty in return for the strength and powers that they give you. With them you will perform many duties and see your power swell as the pact between you strengthen.

Volion Chapter – The Halls of Artifice

The Volion Chapter is allied to the House of the Blood Red Sun and specialises in the creation of Artifice through Lore for the protection of the College.

The flames fuel a forge that no power can quench.

Rega Noi – Head of the Volion Chapter and the Department of Artificery

(Human Remyrukh)

Rega was a long time member of the armed forces of the Royal Basin, although she trained at the College in her youth. Stories of her youth at the College have circulated among the students for year, according to rumour she replaced control crystals from a training automaton with ones that she had crafted herself. The automaton in question ran amuck through the College before finally bursting into the study of Lord Imravin himself. More startling than the fact that she continued as a member of the College was that she was, supposedly, only seven years of age at the time. She refuses to comment even to this day. After she left the College she formed part of a team that produced and repaired specialised automatons that saw action in various wars over her long life (born 1959). She was almost mortally wounded in an action to recover one of her apprentices in the Rhygahrean Wars and retired to teach at the College fulltime.

Ethos

Volion Chapter is the living Heart of the College; if the power of the Zaek Haqire are the strength of the Remyrukhs and the Zemyoks then the Volions are the strength of all that occurs here. This Chapter teems with highly skilled folk who are capable of taking that power and binding it artifice that others would spend a lifetime struggling to comprehend. The Voilion Chapter takes only those with the keenest of intellects, naturally gifted individuals who are able to read the lines of power almost naturally, who find them malleable in their hands and put them to whatever purpose they wish. Here in the halls of Artifice these worthies find the walls alive with ancient texts and works of wisdom that will guide them through their tasks. Remyrukhs, Zemyoks and Terrukh alike find their way to the Volion Chapter and equally they are prevalent on the field, this Chapter providing the largest portion of guildsmen supplied for the Table of Swords.

Korst Chapter – The Long Lords

The Korst Chapter is allied to the House of Blood and Flames and was born to lead the people of the Colleges and by extension the Royal Basin that it’s trade and culture might extend into all worlds.

In flames we find inspiration to stand against the cold of the night.

Kalyia Abbey Tabitha Laura Natheron – Head of the Korsk Chapter and the Department of Research and Development

(Human Zemyok)

Kalyia is a very new addition to the College, being rushed into power when Yagno Petrovna was slain in the aftermath of the Soul Anchor Incidents in 2013. Kalyia is extremely young (Born 1993) but her position in the courts has placed her high up in the Colleges. Should she choose to use it she could apply the weight of a Countess (Lady) although she, as a Natheron, does not enjoy court life as such and proxies are usually sent in her stead. Kalyia excels in all the fields that she needs to in order to operate as the head of this Chapter although many feel that she has taken up the role of the Head of Research and Development as a grace to the Lord Imravin, the true Master of the College. Regardless she is certainly respected and few would argue with her choices, she has been brought up to manage and to protect and these are two things that she does extremely well.

Ethos

The Korst Chapter was founded by nobility and follows the traditions of such a birth deeply; whilst learning to be a member of the College is held just as deeply as any other chapter so too is the need by the Korst to understand the etiquette, customs, cultures and principals of trade of all of the civilised lands that border our own. The Korst Chapter keeps the College wealthy, yes in the form of riches first but also by bringing the best of other societies to the College that they be studied, absorbed and used by our own. The core of the Chapter, however, is leadership; learning to control situations, to inspire others, to lead by example and one day, perhaps, should it be needed to sit upon the throne and direct the people of the Royal Basin. The Chapter is comprised of a mix of all forms of those that come to learn at the Shadowreaver College.

Ethos:

The House of Blood and Flames holds its citadel at the foot of the spires of the Lord of the Sacred Flame and it is through these elementals that the mighty King of the Sacred Flame speaks and acts. Long considered the ruling body of the Kingdom the house of Blood and Flames takes its duties and responsibilities seriously. It is their directive to ensure that the day to day civics of their culture remain intact whilst also trying to deal with the continuing politics of the lesser houses in this particularly feudal society. For those who pact with the house the Lords of Blood and Flames expect to see their legacy spread through the known worlds and also to begin the eventual process of such literature and architecture that exists beyond the Zaek Haqire planes to begin to make its way to the lands of the sacred flame.
